ABOUT JOVIN WEBB

"An impressive contemporary blues and soul powerhouse... Jovin Webb is clearly the real deal" —Rock & Blues Muse

Jovin Webb didn't find the blues—he was born into them. Raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and shaped by gospel music, Southern church culture, and the realities of life on the Gulf Coast, Webb built his voice the old-fashioned way: playing night after night, living the stories he now sings.

He first came to national attention in 2020, when his performances on American Idol stopped the show. Lionel Richie called his voice "the sound of barbecue sauce." Luke Bryan said he could "sit and drink a lot of bourbon listening to that voice." Critics were equally struck—Downbeat described him as possessing "an utterly convincing deep-blues voice that seems to be stained by nicotine and marinated in rye whiskey," while Rock & Blues Muse declared him "clearly the real deal."

His 2024 debut album Drifter, released on the renowned Blind Pig Records and produced by multi-Grammy winner Tom Hambridge, announced him as something rare: a young artist who doesn't perform the blues, but inhabits them. BET recognized what was happening, noting that "Jovin Webb is bringing the blues to a new generation."

Now he returns with Son of a Sinner on Blind Pig Records, a raw and powerful second chapter recorded in Nashville with Hambridge once again at the helm. Where Drifter was a searching soul caught between Saturday night and Sunday morning, Son of a Sinner is the reckoning that follows—an unflinching look at temptation, faith, consequence, and redemption, rooted in blues and gospel but shot through with Southern rock grit. It's the sound of a man telling the truth, even when it's messy.

On stage, Webb is a force of nature—a performer who transforms every room he plays, whether it's an intimate club in Louisiana or a festival stage in Europe. Taken together, Drifter and Son of a Sinner form two halves of the same story—a Southern man wrestling with who he is, where he came from, and who he's still becoming.

Timeless in tradition, urgent in voice, and only getting started.
